Condo Sales Continue At The Ilikai

Homes-112314-1One of Waikiki’s iconic landmarks, The Ilikai, has experienced more than one renaissance since it opened in 1964. Most recently, 176 units on floors 22 through 25 were completely renovated and are being marketed as fee simple resort condominiums.

The project is a collaboration of iStar Financial, a commercial real estate firm with more than $35 billion of commercial real estate investments over the past two decades, and Form Partners and U.S. Pacific Development, whose Honolulu projects include The Vanguard Lofts and The Cove Waikiki.

The 500-square-foot studios and 1,000-square-foot two-bedroom fee simple condominium units, with large private lanais and floor-to-ceiling windows, overlook ocean and mountain panoramas, as well as dramatic nighttime views of the lights of Waikiki. Prices start at $524,000 for studios and $999,500 for two-bedroom units.

Renovations include new kitchens and bathrooms with custom cabinetry, tile flooring, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, designer fixtures, split system air conditioning, accent lighting and sub-metered electricity. Resort-style furnishings were selected by Philpotts & Associates.

On-site amenities feature a grand porte cochere, lush landscaping, security, resort pool and sundeck, retail shops and restaurants, including Sarento’s Top of the “I” and the Waikiki location of Cinnamon’s. Ala Moana Beach Park and Ala Moana Center, with its numerous options for shopping and dining, are within walking distance.

Ilikai translates from Hawaiian as “surface of the sea.” Hawaii’s first luxury high-rise hotel and a project of Hawaii financier and developer Chinn Ho, The Ilikai gained national attention when it was prominently featured in the opening credits of the original Hawaii Five-0 television series, and then again in the 2010 series.

“The Ilikai is a Waikiki landmark celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and we are honored to play a part in restoring its iconic style while upgrading its furnishings and amenities for the next 50 years and beyond,” said Ben Dookchitra, Vice President of iStar Financial.

The Ilikai Waikiki Sales Center, located in Suite 243 on the second floor of The Ilikai, 1777 Ala Moana Blvd., is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Project broker is Prudential Locations. For more information, call (808) 941-1188 or visit www.theilikaiwaikiki.com.
