Hawaii Association Of Realtors Leadership Academy Continues Unique Training Program

Launched in 2009, the program was created by HAR, Hawaii’s statewide, 8,600-member Realtor organization, with the goal of providing Realtors with the skills and knowledge needed to become highly effective leaders, both in their industry and in the community. Up to 12 students are selected for the program each year.
“Participants learn how to maximize their existing strengths and acquire new skills that will prove useful in all aspects of life and career,” said Hawaii Association of Realtors Communications Director Denise Motohiro.
“The retreat format gives the participants an opportunity to interact with each other and learn to work within a group that represents a variety of behavior styles. In order to graduate, the students are required to complete a team project with the potential to benefit both HAR and the industry at large.”
The first 2010 Academy retreat was held April 20 to 22 at Camp Mokuleia on Oahu and will be followed by retreats in June on Hawaii Island and in September on Oahu.
