Leeward Options – Lualualei

Lualualei, the largest of the valleys on Oahu’s Leeward Coast, lies just south of Waianae Valley and north of Nanakuli. Surrounded by the mountains of the Waianae Range, the valley is a unique composite of Hawaiian Home Lands, farms, single family homes, and military installations; also within the valley are the Waianae Mall, the Lualualei Reservoir, and Leihoku Elementary School. Stretching along Farrington Highway makai of the valley is the narrow 18-acre Lualualei Beach Park, which includes campgrounds and parking areas. Although the beach is sandy, a rocky limestone shelf makes it more favorable for fishing than swimming. However, sandy beaches with good conditions for both swimming and surfing are close- by at Maili.
The main access into the valley from Farrington Highway is Lualualei Homestead Road which crosses the highway at the Waianae Community Center. Currently a single family home at 86-904 Iniki Place, a cul de sac in a residential neighborhood, is listed for sale by Realtor Ashliey Wasson of eXp Realty.
Built in 1973, the two-story home was remodeled in 2019 and is being sold for $649,000. With four bedrooms and three full baths, the home is a spacious 2,026 square feet under roof and opens on the second floor to an 286-squarefoot lanai.
“This unique home offers a multi-living layout,†Wasson said. The 7,715-square-foot rim lot is tucked away at the end of a cul de sac with no rear neighbors. The property includes a huge, low maintenance backyard and parking for three cars, with additional street parking.
“The home is newly renovated with stunning brand new interiors with quality finishes such as granite counters and real hardwood bamboo flooring. The kitchen is equipped with state-of-theart Whirlpool appliances. Three of the bedrooms and one bath are located upstairs, and one bedroom and a bath downstairs with a kitchenette and additional living space. Also on the lower level are a large room with a wet bar and full bath…perfect for an in-law suite or indoor entertainment area that flows seamlessly to the backyard.
“Spend your evenings relaxing on your expansive lanai overlooking spectacular sunset and ocean views as well as dramatic mountain and valley vistas.†She noted that the Leeward coast and valleys offer a multitude of recreational opportunities in addition to water sports, including hiking trails and golf at Makaha.
