Man’s Best Friend Has A Friend In The Real Estate Community

RE/MAX Honolulu sales associate Dennis Lubrano is urging his colleagues in the industry to put their social “petworking” skills to good use by joining the Best Friends Animal Society’s Hawaii Go Local Network.
“If you’re looking for a way to help animals in your area and connect with other compassionate people, then join us in becoming part of the Network,” said Lubrano, a Hawaii Go Local Volunteer Team Leader. “It’s free to join, which you can do at the web-site, http://network.best-friends.org /golocal/hawaii/default.a spx. The site includes information on volunteer opportunities, local events, animal shelters, rescue groups, and news about pets and the people who help them. You will be able to post your own personal successes and challenges on the site. Current campaigns include First Home Forever Home, Focus on Felines, Puppies Aren’t Products, and Pit Bulls: Saving America’s Dog,
Lubrano noted that BFAS, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2009, is a nonprofit, membership organization building no-kill programs and partnerships that will bring about a day when there are “No More Homeless Pets.” The society’s leading initiatives in animal care and community programs are coordinated from its Kanab, Utah, headquarters, the country’s largest no-kill companion animal sanctuary. BFAS work is made possible by the support of a grassroots network of members and community partners across the nation. BFAS is featured in the series, “Dog Town,” which airs weekly on the National Geographic channel.
