Veterans United Home Loans of Hawaii, the local branch of the nation’s number one dedicated VA lender, has made it possible for nearly 1,000 Hawaii service members and their families to achieve home ownership through VA financing programs.
The Hawaii branch, founded by prior service U. S. Marine Tony Dias, is also a leading provider of information about the VA benefit, which is covered in detail in free monthly seminars (see schedule below).
Dias pointed out that the company has in-house instant access to underwriters, processors, and other loan experts who work hard to get veterans to closing quickly and seamlessly.
On June 15, Veterans United Home Loans of Hawaii participated in a celebration of the 237th birthday of the United States Army held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Attending the celebration were Veterans United Director of Military Relations Pamela Swan and Hawaii Director of Business Development Paul L’Ecuyer.
Dias pointed out that military installations across the Pacific also held their respective celebrations. At Fort Shafter, nearly 2,200 people gathered at Palm Circle for a day of entertainment, honors, and the traditional Army Black versus Army Gold polo match. In addition, the U.S. Army, Pacific announced the top two soldiers in the Pacific – Staff Sergeant Neal Lang III, Eighth Army (Korea) and Private First Class Jose Figueroa, 8th Theater Sustainment Command (Hawaii).

Lang was awarded USARPAC Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) of the Year, and Figueroa was recognized as USARPAC Soldier of the Year.
Pamela Swan presented Staff Sgt. Lang and Private First Class Figueroa with commemorative swords to honor their achievements.
Award-winners are chosen through a competition known as the Warrior Challenge that includes written exams, interviews, appearance, firearms testing, land navigation, and a physical fitness test.
Lang and Figueroa will go on to compete for Army-wide NCO and Soldier of the Year this October at Fort Lee, Virginia.
